If you’re paying attention to religion news, you probably noticed the controversy over women pastors in the Southern Baptist Convention (i.e. they’re prohibited). Today’s episode is a conversation with Assemblies of God minister Nicky Stade,* a first-generation ordained Pentecostal preacher who was surprised by her calling into pastoral ministry. Nicky and I talk all about Nijay Gupta’s recently released book, Tell Her Story: How Women Led, Taught, and Ministered in the Early Church, and about the challenges that still exist to normalize women in ministry.
